Do you know that God is an first entrepreneur?
I will prove it to you. Genesis 1:1-5
Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.
3-5God spoke: "Light!"
And light appeared.
God saw that light was good
and separated light from dark.
God named the light Day,
he named the dark Night.
It was evening, it was morning—
Day One.
The world was loaded with darkness ( problem)
And God walk through the earth ( thinking and generating ideas to transform the world) and God said let there be light ( Acting on His idea) and there was light ( God idea became a reality) and God saw that it was good. ( God business was good and begin to growth. )
God created the world and want us to be cool creators with him and make the world more better, for this reason I gave you and I, gifts ( potential and talent )
With this gifts, we can become co- Creator with God and make the world a better place and fulfilling our purpose here on earth.
Man was created by God to have dominion here on earth, to lead, if you are not leading, you are missing a lot and living a wasted and purposeless life.
If this country is going to be saved, it's not going to be saved by Dangotes the richest man in Africa, Tony Olumalu, Mike Adenuga, it's going to be saved by you, yes you, reading this now.
To become a successful entrepreneur you need to deal with all the challenges facing entrepreneurs, they are listed as follows.
Challenges startup entrepreneurs face.
1. Fining your purpose ( go and read the book the purpose
driven life and think on it)
- The first step to building a better future is self mystery
- Man know dey self, unless you know yourself, unless you are able to understand the potential inside of you, unless you understand the gifts and talents giving to you as a child of God, you will never become Great.
- Until you can sit down and get a full understanding of who you are, why you are here and your purpose here on earth, you will continue to be a follower in the world.
- When you fine and discover your gift, you become special
- Here in Nigeria, we have this follow follow mentality, where everyone follow what is trendy in business.
For example, that man is studying medicine and making money, everyone want to follow that path.
- To become great, you most learn to create your path.
- It's not about doing entrepreneurship in school, it's about building entrepreneurship into everything we do.
Next is understanding the road map to where you are going (the entrepreneurial concept )
2. Strategic planning
- You can't be all things at all time, you need to define the particular kind of business you want to build.
- Basic strategy, Cooperate strategy, cultural strategy and institutional strategy.
Question to ask yourself.
- What kind of business do I want to do? ( Basic strategy )
- How will I win my local market?
- What is my uniqueness selling propositions - Will my cost be low, will my service be different, will my value be high? All this are your cooperate strategy)
- Functional or Operations Strategy
- How everyone work to achieve the company goal ( cultural strategy )
- Institutional strategy - core values system
What are the values that your business is built on.
- Read the book built to last.
3. Understand the entrepreneurial process ( 3 frame of activities)
1.- Discover the opportunity ( How will the world be 50years from now? What will they want? ) the idea formulation and dreams you have for your business.
2.- Commercialize the venture ( How you plan to make money) how can you systematically offer this product or service and give the value you seek to derive from it.
- The business plan creation
- Putting your resources together
- Determine how people will work together
- manage your resources to achieve the dream you have for your business.
3.- Institutionalize the ventured ( systemize the biz) many times, when you create this business you don't have system, if you have cool, the biz will have cool, you are sick, the business is sick, God forbid you die, the business dies.
The solution is to create standard operating procedure and train others to do it. So when you are not around, your business keep running.
4. Environment, politic, our institutions and government programs ( things can happen you don't plan for)
Look at our budget system, you can start your farm and Fulani hands men destroys it.
5. Access to finance is the one most people talk about mostly, but it's not the most difficult because they are finance every where, people are looking for people with great ideas to invest on.
The key is to have a great idea and effective working plan to run the venture, that will generate wealth effortlessly. And you will give you all the money you need
6. Managing people - most people take it lightly, but the most difficult thing to manage are people.
They have different forms of excuses, today they are mother has one problem and tomorrow they want to travel for burial. Many businesses fail because of people management, people management is a big business.
7. The God Factor
This is one area as a Christian you most focus on.
Trust in the lord with all thy heart
You most learn to trust God.
Pay your tithe to attract favour
Give to help the poor and support God project.
Finally I want you to know this, the information you have heard, you can either use it to produce results and change your world or do nothing and remain the same. I will plead with you to do something with this information.
