Youths are one of the greatest assets that any nation can have and therefore, need to be developed and empowered. According to the National Bureau of Statistics in its 2012 national youth survey report; youths of working age, in the age bracket of 15 to 35 years are nearly 70 million persons in a population of 166 million Nigerians; of these youths 54% are unemployed.
Unemployment has become a major problem in Nigeria and millions of graduates and school leavers are busy roaming the streets in search of elusive jobs.
Without highly educated, financially literate, highly skilled, intellectually brilliant and self-confident youth, a nation is toying with its future, and undermining its existential capacity.
Following the recent UPRISINGs and economic downturn in Nigeria, which has made it quite difficult for most state government to pay salaries and employ labor. It is time for youths to RISE UP and to force their way to relevance.
It is time to take responsibility for the future because the future will not be inherited- it will be earned.
On this blog we march to replace the "Uprisings" with an Up-Rise.
